Senator Keith Boehm seeks re-election

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Senator Keith Boehm Announces Bid for Reelection in North Dakota District 33

Senator Keith Boehm on Saturday Nov. 22nd announced his plan to seek reelection to the North Dakota Senate for District 33 during the 2026 campaign season, emphasizing his deep roots in the community and his continued commitment to the people he serves.

“North Dakota is my home,” Boehm said. “It’s where I was born, and where my wife, Janelle, and I raised our eight children. It’s the homestead where I learned the values of hard work and perseverance—growing up northwest of Mandan and working long days alongside my dad on our family farm and ranch. This land has given me incredible opportunities, from a 42-year career in the power industry at Minnkota Power Plant in Center—33 years as a blue-collar worker and nine years as a management supervisor—to 25 years as a small-business owner in partnership with two family members at the Flying J Travel Center west of Mandan. And today, it’s home to an even bigger family: all eight of our children, their spouses, and our 17 grandchildren.”

Boehm said it has been “an honor and a privilege” to serve the people of District 33 and to learn firsthand the values, concerns, and priorities of the community.

If reelected, Senator Boehm pledges to continue advocating for policies that strengthen North Dakota’s traditional industries, families, and communities. His priorities include:

  • Supporting the Fossil Fuel Industry: Advancing smart innovation, responsible development, and reducing burdensome regulations to ensure reliable, affordable energy for all North Dakotans.
  • Protecting Agriculture and Property Rights: Securing the future of small farming operations, lowering property taxes, and defending private property rights statewide.
  • Strengthening Small Business: Streamlining regulations, reducing taxes, revitalizing existing industries, and encouraging new business growth. Boehm also supports reinforcing laws that uphold free enterprise and equal opportunity.
  • Encouraging Workforce and Economic Growth: Stimulating job creation and reducing government dependency by fostering competitive employment opportunities.
  • Defending Families and Children: Supporting school choice, protecting minors, promoting the traditional American family, and preserving the right of parents to direct all aspects of their children’s health, education, and welfare.

During his time in the legislature, Senator Boehm has served actively on the Industry and Business Committee and the Energy and Natural Resources Committee during session, as well as the Energy Development and Transmission Committee, the IT Committee, and the Protection and Victim Services Committee during the interim. He believes the policy-development work of the legislature is where he can make the greatest impact.

Senator Boehm has also been the primary sponsor of several key bills focused on protecting children and strengthening community safety. These include legislation requiring age verification for minors accessing adult content online, multiple bills removing obscenity from institutions attended by minors, and a bill mandating human-trafficking education in the 6th, 10th, and 12th grades—legislation that is already credited with saving lives. He also holds the highest life-vote rating from North Dakota Right to Life and has passed multiple bills strengthening private property rights.

Senator Boehm looks forward to the opportunity to continue serving the people of District 33 with dedication, integrity, and a focus on North Dakota values.
